What you will learn:


This course introduces the architecture of Oracle Application Server 10g and enables the participants to effectively install and manage Oracle Application Server 10g. The participants learn how to access and use Oracle Application Server management tools, and practice the basic management tasks such as starting and stopping of Oracle Application Server 10g instances and its components. The participants gain hands-on experience in configuring the Oracle Application Server 10g Infrastructure and the Oracle Application Server 10g middle-tier. They also learn to deploy J2EE applications such as Web applications. They learn the concepts of identity management and how to configure and manage Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On Server, and the Oracle Application Server Certificate Authority. The participants learn how to leverage Oracle Identity Management Infrastructure for securing OracleAS Portal. Participants also learn the procedures involved in backing up and restoring the Oracle Application Server 10g instances from backup in case of a disaster.


This course counts towards the Hands-on course requirement for the Oracle Application Server 10g Administrator certification

What you will learn:


This course is the suggested follow-up to Oracle Application Server 10g R2: Administration I. The focus of this class is to introduce how to distribute Oracle Application Server components in different enterprise topologies to provide and maintain high availability, and scalability.
The participants learn about the recommended enterprise topologies, high availability, and disaster recovery features in Oracle Application Server. They learn about installing and maintaining high availability implementations such as OracleAS Cold Failover Cluster (Infrastructure), OracleAS Cold Failover Cluster (Middle Tier), OracleAS Cluster (Portal). The participants access and use Oracle Application Server monitoring and management tools.
The participants learn to effectively install and manage non-default installations and perform these tasks:

  • Cloning and staging of Oracle Application Server
  • Deploying OracleAS Forms, Oracle Reports, and OracleBI Discoverer to Oracle Application Server
  • Administering OracleAS Forms, Oracle Reports, OracleBI Discoverer
  • Configuring and managing OracleAS Cluster (Web Cache)
  • Performing invalidation requests in OracleAS Cluster (Web Cache)
  • Configuring and managing OracleAS Cluster (OC4J)
  • Configuring and managing OracleAS Cluster (Identity Management)

This course counts towards the Hands-on course requirement for the Oracle Application Server 10g Administrator certification.
Learn To:
